Few Years Back

Few years back, we prayed the rain god so the schools are closed,
Now we wish it does not rains so we can punch in on time…

Few years back, we used to drink milk just to eat the left out sugar from the glass,
Now, we don’t even realize the taste of sugar with having 4 cuttings per day and some smoke puffs…

Few years back, aai used to scold you for not eating all vegetables,
Now as she has turned old, and you live on junk, we don’t even have time to ask her “vyavastit jevlis ka”..

Few years back, weekend was spent with games, family, ramayan, mahabharata and mowglis..
Now, just a long hours of sleep.

Few years back Dinner started with “vadanikaval gheta”
Now, “jashi asete ke aai, havi tashi sasubai”

Few years back roaming in the Bank with our parents, our excitement was unmatched when your token number was flashed,
Now, we are busy in calculating the debits and credits with an expectation for more credits..

Time flied between such “Few years Back …and Now”, we hardly realize the “Fun” we had few years back and tend to live in “NOW”.. Though past is the History, lets try to bring these few years back to your now and live your life rather than life living with you!

Monsters Incorporated

Clock showed 8.40, I was super late today, tired of driving, I boarded a taxi. Realizing the meter is fast I told the taxiwala: “Bhaiya, apka meter check karo, galat dikha raha hai”, he was silent.
The meter read Rs.154/-, I told him “bhaiya traffic raha toh bhi Rs.120/- hota hai.. please apka meter check karo galat hai”.. he said “aisa kya, mein check karvata hu..”, I said, “aaj mein extra Rs.30 de sakta hu, lekin dinbhar aapko agar koi budhe, garib log jinko majburi se taxi leni hogi , toh zara sochiye” He went silent, “Bhai apka extra paisa le lo, me meter check karwata hu”, I said  o let it be with you, but just think of what I told you.

Whether I did the right thing? I don’t know but I had a chance of fighting, it was my hard earned money making hungama and I missed it. Why? What I felt at that moment is rather than fighting make him realize and I felt that in his voice when he was returning the extra penny’s. I hope he learns from it and if not am sure that Rs.30/-  will cost him someday or other.

What I feel, we always tend to make mistake dealing in situations, some situations involving Rickshawalas, Taxiwalas, Bus drivers (for people who drive their own cars).  Few people reading this may say “salla, he has his own car, how can he understand the pain one goes through taking rickshaw”. I certainly understand your emotions with few errant rickshawalas but all are not the same. After all they are also human beings, providing facility to public.

So if some rickshawala /Taxiwala, says “no” to you, tell him thik hai lekin koi budha nahi toh baccha aya to please use le jana. If someone charges extra, tell him the fault, make him realize. Don’t race with Buswala’s, just imagine if you have told to make 8 rounds to and fro from Dadar- Boriwali, what would be your halat @ end of the day. If some bus cuts your car, for a change go ahead and tell him “lay bhari rav”, where he may be expecting your verbal glorification.

These suggestions will be least accepted, or doing this may land you with no taxi or rickshaws @ your end, but atleast at that time you must have spread the message. All this may sound impractical or illogical in our fast life, but atleast you can give a try for creating a “Change” as it will begin only with you. So rather than incorporating monsters “Monster Incorporated”, just try to co-operate with the Monsters.
